Strange. I had a few free hours. I was in a position of ‘I’ve nothing pressing to do.’ This brought with it a little anxiety. I let go into the space, sat down, picked up my phone, and typed in, ‘The end of seeking’. Your podcast came up. This conversation met me straight on. Good to have found you!

I enjoyed the discussion - thanks! Calming voices of sanity ....

I feel it is important to acknowledge as part of being in this finite time-bound incarnation, the development of an ego/identity is fundemental to our survival - to prevent harm to ourselves, and make our way authentically and honorably through our life. Most beings unfortunately do not recognize the "conceptual" and fragile nature of the "small" self - unless they have brief moments of awe - a birth of a child, the sacred moment of a loved one's passing, or being in nature, as examples. Due to it's fragile nature, and to protect our identity - we inadvertnently devlop protective belief systems, suppress emotions and alter our behaviours for safety. Addressing trauma, particularly infant/toddler & early childhood overwhelming distress is critical to return to "baseline" so that the truth of our being can be realized and begin to become a lived experience. In my personal journey, trauma healing needed to occur prior to the possibilty of residing in true nature.

Such an important part of the process, yes! A big part of my own personal story too, for me it happened to be the other way around - the discovery of a deeper ground gave the true holding to be able to meet the trauma. That's what's so beautiful, each entirely journey different, yet many of the same themes and tastes for us all to share in, pointing us back to our own direct knowingness. I appreciate your feedback, and for sharing a little of yourself here. ~ Imogen

Agree Imogen - each of us has a unique journey. It's almost as if there is an interplay between the "knowingness" and the trauma. Unlike in your case, although the sun shone through the clouds in brief interludes - offering remembrances of the possibility of living with peace and radical acceptance of "what is" - it seems as though healing the trauma and settling the nervous system allowed the sun to shine for longer periods and with increasing warmth.
